Time ran out before the audience could ask these questions.
Should the Tower Records building have been leased to Walgreens?
It seems to me that Walgreens would have been a good fit. It would have taken the whole space and, more importantly, it's average time per customer visit would not have an added burden on parking at peak times.
Brea Trolly? If its ridership is not signicant for the cost to operate, then it is a financial burden that we cannot afford right now.
Crosswalk at Birch at City Hall? incredibly wasteful considering the economic climate.
Web app for parking spaces at Birch Street parking structure? another wasteful action.
Administration staffing reductions? Department reorganization was a good thing. Giving raises to the 6 remaining department heads (directors) shows additional poor judgement in using resident tax dollars, expecially at a time when so many residents are struggling financially.

School Crossing Guards
I was at the last city council meeting when announced that the city would pick up the tab for the school crossing guards (in past years this cost has been shared between the city and the school district). Now it is disappointing that the school district did not prioritize this budget item, but I am pleased that the city stepped it to cover the cost. BUT, isn't it another sign that this city council is not in touch with whats important to the residents. How long before the school year started did the council know that crossing guards would not be staffed? They all looked rather pleased with themselves when they entered the council chambers, for they had headed off a flury of outrage from the parents that had gathered for the public comment time. But REALLY, did they not think way back when they first knew of this issue, that this would be important to the Brea residents??? I will be a voice for Brea residents. Vote for Don R. Havard (AT THE BOTTOM OF THE BALLET) on November 2nd. http://www.havardforbrea.com/

NO NEW TAXES
Over this past decade, taxes and fees have grown out of control at all levels of government. A couple of years ago, Brea was considering raising the sales tax in the city. With times even tougher now, I want to make sure that is not an option. http://www.havardforbrea.com/
