School Crossing Guards

I was at the last city council meeting when announced that the city would pick up the tab for the school crossing guards (in past years this cost has been shared between the city and the school district).  Now it is disappointing that the school district did not prioritize this budget item, but I am pleased that the city stepped it to cover the cost.  BUT, isn't it another sign that this city council is not in touch with whats important to the residents.  How long before the school year started did the council know that crossing guards would not be staffed?  They all looked rather pleased with themselves when they entered the council chambers, for they had headed off a flury of outrage from the parents that had gathered for the public comment time.  But REALLY, did they not think way back when they first knew of this issue, that this would be important to the Brea residents???  I will be a voice for Brea residents.  Vote for Don R.
